defaultplatform

Specifies the default build platform for a workspace.

defaultplatform ("platform_name")

If a default platform is not specified through this API, the first platform in alphabetical order from platforms will be used as the default.

Parameters​

platform_name - The name of the platform to use as default.

Workspace configurations.

Remarks​

When generating Visual Studio solutions (.sln or .slnx), Premake writes the selected platform and build configuration first. Neither Microsoft solution format provides fields that explicitly identify the default platform or configuration, so this is a best-effort hint based on entry ordering. Microsoft tools or other consumers may apply their own defaults instead; for example, MSBuild prefers Mixed Platforms, then Any CPU, when either is available.
